Where do you legally stand?

same here I normally just get a letter saying that the agency have extended their contract with the client therefore my services are extended, no change of contract or new contract to sign, just ask them to send you something in writing to say you have been extended -
I was being sarcastic. Everyone seems to think everything is illegal today for some reason so was just going with the flow.Originally posted by malvolio View PostNo its not. If you turn up and keep working, the terms of the previous contract will be in force.
You are correct but I would point out that it would be pretty stupid to just turn up with only a verbal nod. You are correct there is an implied contract if they ask to you carry on working without a signed contract but a verbal one is a minefield. If someone denies saying it or isn't in a position to give that authorisation you could be in hot water as you won't be insured or covered by clients policies etc. Only needs someone to say no and your chance of getting paid goes out of the window as well.
Getting a letter or an email as support monkey says is the sensible approach.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

Did you verbally accept the verbal contract? Were the terms and conditions the dsame as your old contract? Was the verbal discussion with the client or agent?Originally posted by steve94 View PostI am told my contract while be renewed but the contract has not been sent to me for signature so there is no contract in place except a verbal one.Comment

I always used to stress about this but now I'll do it with an email confirming it.
If you insist on waiting for the paperwork, then youve no chance with most clients.Rhyddid i lofnod psychocandy!!!!Comment

Yep i see lots of opinions but not legal framework that states why its illegal......something being illegal is down to a specific legal framework stating it is so.Originally posted by MyUserName View PostThere are only two pages, read them all?Comment
