    DV Clearance Transfer refused....what now?

    Hi everyone

If you already have DV clearance why on earth would a transfer request be refused?

Also, once a transfer request has been refused once, can you ever look for a DV cleared role again? Is there a set amount of time you might wait before applying for another role. I'm guessing that a refused transfer application would mean that youre very unlikely to be cleared again.

Has anyone had any experience of this? Any advice? Any comment are much appreciated.

Are you able to talk to DVA about this? they may be placed to tell you the answers you seek...
I didn't say it was your ******* fault, I said I was blaming you!

It was through an agent. They just said that it didn't go through and that they are unable to find out why!?!...I think it's relatively usual to not give an explanation when it's DV though. So frustrating.

This apparently doesn't affect your current employment, but I'm worried it will affect any future employment/applications. Any ideas?

Firstly, an agency cannot do clearance (refer to Cabinet Office - HMG Personnel Security Controls - for rules and regs). The end client MUST perform clearance for the ROLE that you are fullfilling, not an agency or agent.

Note that even within the same client, DV clearance has to be re-applied for each role.

Thanks GG. You're right, the agent certainly didn't do the check, but they were informed by their client (who would have been my employer) that the DV didn't transfer.

I also realise that a new transfer app has to go through with each sucessful job application, but does the past rejection put a black mark on my record? Is it worth trying for a transfer again (on a different role) or am I black listed now?
