Newbie here - Standards of conduct document

I have just received my first contract offer and have to complete a number of things for vetting purposes.

One of these is a standards of conduct document that I need to sign.

    I have two questions here

    Is this fairly typical?
Is this something that you would have reviewed as part of a contract review?

    Thanks in advance

No you are a contractor, standards of conduct don't apply, you can do whatever the bloody hell you want.

What you have in your hand is probably a policy document, not a contract. You will probably get one about security and H&S. Some may need signing and returning to confirm you have read them and will adhere to them, some are for info only.

There is nothing wrong with signing policies. They are not IR35 factors. They apply to anyone on site, permie or contractor alike. They are there to protect the company not to catch you out or for you to negotiate. Most are legal requirements, some are good practice.

As it is non negotiable and applys to all you do not need to have it reviewed.

          Hi Northernlad,

Yes you are spot on, it is a policy document and refers to things such as not being under the influence of drugs or alcohol whilst on site, policy on gifts and entertainment etc.

I was curious about it as I had not heard mention of this type of document on the forum before but many thanks for the response, its most appreciated.

          Cheers
