I work in similar (plus Lean & BPR) but couldn't get into these places - 'must have previous fin exp, etc'
    Clarity is everything

I must have known 15 people on the one project there on between 600 - 800. One mate on 800 never got a login to the ERP dev environment for 3 months. The consultancy (read fly by night co) charged him out at well over a grand a day.

I suspect that we may have the same source(s)

I've been there just shy of a month now and I'm really enjoying it, the work's good as are the people. Enjoying the project(s) I'm part of. Wasn't sure what to expect with my first contract gig but its been good.
I've certainly recommended it to a few former colleagues who have been getting calls from agencies about similar roles albeit on different projects in the bank.

WGAS - Doohg - Why on earth would I be telling anyone my rate at RBS ? I certainly would never justify it to anyone.
As long as they are paying the rate you want and you are likely to get paid, it being RBS would mke zero difference to me. Contractors are 'just visiting', vast bulk of issues are not my concern.

Are you sure you're cut out for contracting?
We don't have to save the world. The world is big enough to look after itself. What we have to be concerned about is whether or not the world we live in will be capable of sustaining us in it.

Strange isnt it, large financial institutions asking for financial experience.

Probably why I specialise contracting with banks given its been the basis of my whole career. This of course works in reverse when ive been tempted to try my hand at government contract or telecons etc.

I guess its a chicken and egg thing, need a bit of luck to get in or sell your transferable skills.
