    Current Contractors at Lloyds

    Chaps

There may be an opportunity coming up at LBG (Halifax) soon which I'm tempted by, but heard a few rumours about contractors there getting 10% cuts, being told not to come in over xmas, cutting the contracts short etc.

Anyone out there who can offer first hand advice of the current situation...

    Thanks

I would imagine a new contract would have the 10% cut already factored in

I'm currently in for 3 over there.

Will see what the rates are but was told by the agent, who I have had dealings with for years, that they are paying reasonable rates.

So if it comes to interview and offer I can fully assess the situation and try and get some relevant alterations in the contract. Like no cuts/negotiation until contract end. Not sure it would work, as they could still terminate and offer back at reduced rate.

There are always routes around these things.

The rate seems really good that's all, and I know these guys generally work off a rate card, having worked there before...

I got offer from Llyods a few weeks back but part of the offer included me agreeing to take a 10% rate after 6 months, I got them to up the rate to factor that in, didn't take it in the end for other reasons.

That 10% after 6 months has now become with immediate effect.

So it should already have it factored in.

Now that doesn't make a lick of sense! Internal pointlessness... give you 10% more now just so they can get a reward for cutting costs later?!

my guess is that many of the contracts from here on will have short termination notices, so be on the look out all the time

with the cuts in full swing everywhere else i would expect it to be incorporated in the rates of recent contracts

Worked there over 18 months ago before they moved to Dean Clough. Didnt like what I saw so didnt renewal although they wanted me too. They were expecting long days and that was before the rate cut.

Wouldnt be in a hurry to go back there tbh.
