Ever since I got told that my contract is getting cut short I have been seeing gigs that I can't apply for as I am here for another 7 weeks!

Never used jobserve in my 12 years of contracting."Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience". Mark Twain -

I find most of the sites are pretty similar for gauging the marketOriginally posted by Stevie Wonder BoyI can't see any way to do it can you please advise?

LOL I keep doing that just to keep an eye on the market even though I am in a long contract and there is always one closer to home and more money that I could do with my eyes shut. Still guts me when that happens!Originally posted by SimonMac View PostEver since I got told that my contract is getting cut short I have been seeing gigs that I can't apply for as I am here for another 7 weeks!'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

Hi, I keep applying for jobs on jobserve and the "Views" statistics or "Downloads" have not changed a bit during the last 3 weeks. Is there no activity in August at all, or simply my applications do not even get to the agents? Any other jobserve type sites that someone could recommend? My mind has gone blank. I wonder if it was always that way.

The market is really confusing me these days. I am getting calls about roles offering up to 450/day locally - rates I have never seen before oop north. I thought only London offered rates like that? On the other hand they are cutting permies and contractors in banks left right and centre.... Market seems totally messed up at the moment. Always best to just be content with what you have otherwise you will never be happy.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostLOL I keep doing that just to keep an eye on the market even though I am in a long contract and there is always one closer to home and more money that I could do with my eyes shut. Jobserve's worth to me went downhill hugely about a year or so ago when they decided to stop allowing people to sign up to a full daily dump of all their jobs via an emailed CSV. I had a nice Excel template that I could dump the CSV into that sorted the jobs based on my criteria and allowed me to filter far more accurately than the website ever could. It also gave me a very good insight into the market itself as I could keep an eye on jobs like mine and what the agencies were pimping them out at. It gave me a huge amount of information in 2-3 minutes of effort that the site just can't and won't do.
I suppose there must have been a good commercial reason why they discontinued this...Comment
