Urgent help - first time ba - decent rate?

Hi there, Ive been a BA for 3 years in an IT services company and have just been offered a 3 month contract of 300 a day (east midlands) about 25 mins from home.

As a BA, is that a decent rate to jump at for my first contract? I am 25 and have my ISEB diploma, degree in Business Info Systems, and the 3 years exp.

What say you oh wise ones? I need to decide today as its financial services, they need to start the vetting process etc. They went straight to offer off a phone interview...

As a BA based in the East Midlands but working in London I say £300 is a decent rate for your 1st contract - I'd take it if I were you.

      Decent Rate

Hi, I would agree, in East Midlands I get roughly £150 - £200 a day less than London / Manchester but its nice to be close to home!!

If you want any working tips etc, let me know, I have probably worked there at some point.

Ive negotiated an extra day to think about it.

It's a risk as I would have to give in my notice on the basis of a verbal offer as they need to begin the vetting process...

You're 25. Foot in the door. No mortgage at a young age. Do it.

Yep....very positive start. 300 would be 400 in the south which is a pretty good rate in my book plus a foot in the door with anything finance is great. Contracts nearly always get extended if you're good..so don't just look at is a 3 monther.

                  rather jealous....nobody paid me 300 a day at 25.

Quite, with you there. At 25 I was on about 18k.
