Your thoughts please...
The situation is I've got 5 weeks left in a contract which has been a good little number, good £££ but 3 hours a day travelling. Another contract has come up, went for interview, and got a call to say I've gone from the 6 interviewees into the last 2, but they want another interview. There are pros and cons in this new role, it's 1 to 1.5 hours per day travelling, big Blue Chip etc but the rate is not as good as I want. The good thing is the role is paid by the hour and I guess I could do an extra hour or so per day and get up to somewhere where I want to be £££ wise. There's just something that isn't floating my boat (mainly the hourly rate) so I was thinking about playing Devils Advocate as they said I was the strongest candidate. I was thinking of saying "give it to the other guy as I have another gig coming up" which I don't. Thing is, I don't think I would be that arsed if I didn't get the gig. My thoughts are that they MAY come back and offer me either the role straight away without a 2nd interview, or offer more £££ to take it, but I could easily end up with fook all.
So,
1) Should I be grateful theres work out there and play ball
2) Fire it off and hope there may be more, better paid roles out there in April / May
3) Take a gamble that might pay off as above
Any comments from folks in similar situations would be welcomed...
