Ok got contract through at same rate.

Won't be going in until tuesday as contract needs to be sorted.

You think it's possible to get a new contract before then?

Yep. Had it happen to me a couple of times. Agent wandered around to the client to get it all signed, and then met up with me afterwards.

Mind you, that all depends on the agency and the client...

Still, I'm glad to hear you've got it all sorted and without the rate drop. Lesson learned for next time: make sure you have another contract lined up just in case they try it on again!

Cheers, trust me I applied to every role and had 4 interviews but all unsuccessful. Market is good but competition very high.

Run the contract down to the last day then offer a renewal with pay cut ? B'stards trick that is.
That would be it for me, I would keep working at a decent level but I would be looking to jump ship and would walk off site if I got a decent offer elsewhere.

Agency messing me around again. After confirming rate would stay on Friday got another call from his boss today asking what I would accept. Really peed off and considering not going back at all.

I've had official confirmation of a 1 months extension on the 29th of that month. Same bunch of clowns confirmed a 3 month extension a month after I'd left

If you have a good relationship with the client tell them that the agency are mucking you around and can't come in until your contract issues are sorted.

Some agents get scared when you inform them that you have been talking to the client. It's more amusing if you say that and you haven't.

Where is the pressure coming from. Is the client looking for a reduction or is the agency trying to increase it's margin. You need to know that first.

Speak to the client, find out if it is them driving the rate cut.
