    Have always managed to negotiate early release (when needed) with clients. Just be up front and professional about it and explain that your dog has just died and the family are desperate for you to be at home to comfort them and/or that operation you need on the slipped disc in your back has to be done next week.

      Help! Bit of a similar quandry as current Client thinks I will cause Nuclear warfare between them and Agency if I try to leave early

      He doesn't really 'get' Contractors and the whole MyCo supplying services etc., so I think I'm going to miss out on what is a very good opportunity elsewhere due to having to serve a very pointless 4 week notice period!

      New client needs me in 1 week to 2 weeks max to be part of handover as person I'm replacing is emigrating.

      Blimmin nightmare situation but nobody said Contractor life was going to be easy

        We need a list of these stupid agency tricks and how to deal with them.
        Please could someone do this ! I have learnt so much from peoples experiences and advice on this forum and this would be such a big help for people like myself who has never yet had anything like this happen and always wonders if it does what do you do.

        I would really not know the right things to say if an agency turned around and wanted compensation for me leaving early or not starting a contract.

          That's easy. You have (I hope) the right to substitution so substitute yourself.
