Unboomed after 6 weeks of extension

Just been told that ClientCo are terminating my contract with 1 month notice, after only doing 6 weeks of a 6 month extension.

A blessing in disguise I feel, as the work load had dropped off and was becoming bored with the reduced support and project type work, I'm a coder.

    Contract market here I come.

Not so bad as I have a war chest that could prob manage 12 months.

    Ah well, never mind.

At least it doesn't seem as bad as this time last year. I didn't find a contract until May...

I've had the most calls I've received in months in the last 2 days. Some of the other contractors have also been fielding calls. The boss picked up on it ! Rate rise time

Wow I know so many other contractors that this happened to them recently, no idea why the client are renewing for 6 months when they know they'll terminate in a month or so!!

But yep the market is very busy, so you should get somthing soon.

          Ouch!

Well the banking market seems to be flourishing, people are still calling even at this time of the year. You'll be fine.

I was nervous about this because my contract ends on 24 December, and apparently this is a hideous time of year to be looking, but I've had quite a few promising sounding roles put my way and it looks like I might have to turn down the chance to go for them as Clientco is going to offer me a new contract. Sweet.
