I hope it is. I'd hate for the words: "Perhaps we should put NI on dividends..." to be discussed in those hallowed places of leit-fingeredness.

That would be fine by me, as long as it was everybody's dividends, and not just dividends paid by type A companies doing type B work to type C people who...

Seeing as the 'insurance' aspect of NI is long gone, I don't think earned income should be taxed more harshly than unearned income.
