South West.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson -

I don't agree. I think it's dire at the moment regardless of how good you are.Now the boom times have gone a lot are scratching their heads, wondering why they are benched whereas the real contractors continue to invoice.
The agencies compound the problem because they typically employ non-techy people to filter out the best candidates. How they do that, I don't know, but it certainly doesn't involve looking at your CV.Comment

Some Markets are quite buoyant, but I notice pimps are relying on who's on their books rather than touting their wares on jobserve et al.Comment

May have been posted earlier but jumping straight in - I have noticed a huge uptake in pimps using linkedin and posting jobs in group forums (you have to be a member of the group to get notified). Been contacted a few times over last month on contract roles.Originally posted by norrahe View PostSome Markets are quite buoyant, but I notice pimps are relying on who's on their books rather than touting their wares on jobserve et al.
My view is that the market is buoyant however competition is fierce.Comment

The way I see it is there's 100 fishermen for every fish, surely buoyant would be the opposite?Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? Yes but only a few of those fishermen have their hooks in the clientcos, you just have to know which ones are best to deal with.Originally posted by gingerjedi View PostEh?
