Scatter gun, multiple applications is dangerous. With the quantity you have sent 250 a week for a year you must have applied for every agency. Saturation with the wrong Cv is lethal.

    Good luck
Totally agree with these points. I cannot believe there are 20-30 roles a day matching your skills. Keep spamming the agents with the same potshots and if anything you are going to make it worse for yourself. That and the fact you are going to get so demoralised for no reason you won't be on top form when you need it.

Send applications to and only to the jobs you are a perfect match for. There are many 100's more people like you spamming the agents so the 'send it and hope' is so not going to work at all.

If you need the money and fit the criteria claim it.

At the moment it's not frowned upon as the economy is a mess and it's hard getting temporary jobs outside of IT to keep yourself a float. (Search for and read RichardCranium's thread called "Life on the bench with my dressing gown" or something similar.)

As Cojak pointed out before "Don't be too proud" as not having a house is more damaging than claiming benefits.

The scroats that don't pay a penny to the upkeep of the country don't have any qualms about claiming it so why shouldn't you when you need it. You are actually using the system correctly. You pay in when you can and take out when you can't. It is all the other freeloading wasters that are the problem.

          Amen.

EDIT: To clarify, I absolutely agree!

i dont believe in benefits full stop. it encourages parasites (like the ones who had their 12th baby yesterday and live on benefits).

However, if I were elgibile for them I would take it. I have been paying tons of money into the economy and see that going to funding the benefits gravy train rather than improving roads and crime fighting etc. So when I am eligible I will have a fraction back, thank you.

Isn't this a bit of a contridiction. You say you are adamant you don't believe in them but in the next sentence you say you will take them?

You shouldn't not believe in benefits. They are there to help and there are a large majority of people that do use them properly. Just because some scroats exploit the system isn't a reason to not believe in them surely.

You don't want the UK to become like countries such as India and South Africa where the poor are really poor and some people resort to horrible tactics to get money.

I would agree about people in poor countries needing benefits. In countries like the UK I DO NOT AGREE that someone who is willing to work hard cannot make ends meet. If one is desperate there are jobs around. The problem is, benefits pay better than these jobs as the Tories have finally discovered. So why should anyone bother?

Stay on topic please guys- if you wish to discuss the merits of benefits then start another thread in General.

This is a pertinent thread, due to the state of the economy, which a lot of forum users can benefit from so warrants staying on topic.

                    Thanks.

The rights or wrongs of benefits is irrelevant.

They exist, you have been charged for them, you are mugging yourself if you don't make the fullest use of them.

Nobody should feel guilty about signing-on. They feel no guilt about confiscating your wealth; so never feel bad about having back some of what is yours.

At the very least sign-on to get your NI pensions credit.

Edit: Ops, sorry Clippy. I started this reply and the phone went. Only after I finished did I submit it.

How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.
