    Ouch indeed!

I'll have you know my comprehension and reading skills of the queens english are excellent and I'm articulated like a lorry (sic)!

    Ok put 'em up!!!

Here's my gripe. The few of you I have corresponded with on this forum will know my posts are normally freindly and practical. I'm not one for dishing out cheek for the sake of it. But comments like your "*wonders if this means a lot like him and the so called ICT lot will be heading home soon*" are jingoistic and border on xenophobic.

The originator of this post did not create the current job market, had no influence on the trades legislation or globalisation policies that permit him to work here. He's merely doing what he can to get the best out of it. As are the remainder of us.

Look at the number of posts on here about working in Australia, US, Canada and everywhere else and kindly explain the different to me. We all put up with whatever crap life and the governmental systems throw at us and try to make the best of it. Fair play to the original poster and the rest like him as far as I'm concerned.

You have a problem with UK immigration policies then try writing to your politician rather than making comments like that.

Meantime I look forward with relish (on my lunchtime sarnie as it happens!) to your long detailed reply about the damage the policies of cheap imported labour has had on those employed in UK IT. Just do you best not to quote Mein Kampf along the way.

No need for for a long detailed reply from me.
I had a 3 month contract that got cut short because I was undercut by a cheap permie replacement direct from Pakistan. Nothing to do with my work - he was just cheaper! This led to me being on the bench for 2 months over Christmas. I have no idea how this person had a work permit and I later found out he was "moved on" into another department because he couldn't do the job (completely contradicting his cv skills).

You're using quite emotive language; folks should be entitled to air their views and opinions.

People, wherever you will go will feel concerned when different supply chains/methods are used to service a business need and potentially impacts on their ability to continue to secure a good living - it is natural that they feel this way.

Perhaps the OP was a hoax anyway, to wind people up.

I suppose it's because there is some reciprocation between those countries and the UK see's lots of Ozzies etc working here... not certain it's possible for us to work on the sub continent so easily - but correct me if I'm wrong

Well if you're looking for reciprocation I'd say look at the thousands and thousands of Brits and Western europeans who take a year off work and go to India, Thailand, Sri Lanka and wherever else they please to "find themselves" or whatever. That's how these countries reciprocate, is one way of looking at it: they come here for work (and contribute to our economy), we go there to stare at their children, take pictures of them smiling at our camera, and come back with stories to tell (and contribute to their economy).
