The travel is a bit of a pain though.
So how did you get the visa? Assuming you're not a national? Checked the skills list and it looks like what i do is on it, of sorts anyways.

E: also if you did need a visa how long did it take?

Just got a Alchemy Jobserve thingy for a gig in Milan. It's all in Italian, I don't speak Italian, but it can't be as hard as Russian, might just click on apply and wing it....

      There, just applied!

I just got $550/day for SQL. So thats a month on the bench. In the last two years.

Senior dotnet seems to be around $100/hour, maybe more for banking

Those rates seem poor to me. I'm a Test Manager though as this was my first aussie role I took a Test Lead position (one rung below). This is paying $700 and I'm about to agree an 11% rise after a year on the contract.

I've also been offered a 2 year gig as a test manager on $1000 a day (current typical going rate) but I'm holding off to see the current contract through.

My team of test analysts get > $600 per day.

Oh and the weather forecast is sunny and 27 degrees for the next week. Not bad for autumn

Flew into Basel last week, I would say 70% of the people on the flight were working in the Pharma industry in that area - not searched for contract stuff over there, but there's some big ole companies there.

Well thats a great rate. I noticed testers get paid well here, even strong SQL with an IB was only paying up to $700/day.

I'm pretty happy with my rate for now. First OZ contract, I live with my sister by the beach at Freshy for $100/week, bike to work, get the Living Away From Allowance so pay f-all tax.

Still swimming at the beach, loving the lifestyle *and* this place is a major babe-fest! Hard to think of anywhere else in the world that does the beach culture so well *and* provides great contract opportunities!

                  Lovin it!
