    Depressing

50+ applications, one call back and that it. Depressing.

Yep. That's how bad it is and how bad it has been for quite some time. I've done over 500 applications this time around, so far.

You have two choices: keep applying until you get something, or give up.
My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.

      Any luck?

I am applying for permie as well. Give up would mean becoming a postie or going on the dole for me.

Err, no. I'd stop applying if I had been successful.

You can go on the dole while looking for gigs, if you're skint enough.

How about doing some actual sales work, rather than just "applying"?

I assume you mean working the contacts and cold calling agencies etc. I am doing all that too.
