    Has anyone tried "netlinked"

    http://www.netlinked.co.uk/About.aspx

I would be interested in hearing if anyone has attended any of their meetings or, if as a member, they have had any business leads through them.
This default font is sooooooooooooo boring and so are short usernames

well as the company has only been up and running for 2 months, I expect no one can give any long term feed back.

And to be honest, I have never met any contractors who have got a role via LinkedIn. And as this appears to be a LinkedIn guide / referral site, I would not pay up £260.

      I particularly like this bit:

Becoming a member requires only that you are a member of LinkedIn, an application form, a registration fee of £50 + VAT and a standing order for £35/month + VAT
Do you want me to shove a broom up my arse and sweep up as well?

      Older and ...well, just older!!

Seriously!? I know a number of contractors who have got contracts as a direct result of LinkedIn.

In fact, I've got an iron in the fire as a direct result of my profile.

I also can see loads of people who have no chance of getting anything via it. Their pic makes them look like a convict and their profile says **** all.

                Linked_in Recruitment

                Linked-in is a valuable tool.

I often get interest from my linked-in profile. I suppose you have to approach it like a search engine, list your skills on your profile, keep it interesting, the comment about ex-convict photos is relevant

Interesting though that linked-in is now selling feeds of their data to recruitment agencies to improve the quality / content of their own databases...

The only enquiries I've ever had are from Bob Shawaddywaddy wanting free advice on how to do his day job or deep sea trawlers from agents I've never heard of before. Waste of time for me and I have actually put in a fair bit of effort and compared to the majority of frankly, pi55 poor profiles that I see on there, mine is a pretty good one I reckon. But maybe I'm just deluded and it's sh!te really!
