    Boomed!

    .....but not UK

Just had a third tester poached from my team over 6 months for a better rate.

Agents tell me it is going to get worse with some large projects on the go in 2010. The downside for UK contractors - this is in Melbourne.

I'm so glad they've put waiting time for visas up to 3 years, otherwise I'd be joining you quite soon

I saw one in Queensland in the summer. I emailed, applied online, applied via their web site and phoned a number of times (always getting the answerphone despite it being office hours down there). It was my niche field and I saw them advertise it three times but they never even bothered to email me back. They were paying to advertise it on .uk job sites so on assumes pommies could apply.
My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.

They may have just been seeing if they could tempt some out of work ozzies or kiwis who won't need visas to work in Australia.

I hear that every role posted online elicits hundreds of responses from unqualified people all around the world.

          Sigh.

Its the same old, same old but with an aussie accent. Actually a lot of the ones I deal with are poms.
