i have a slightly different dilema. I told client co i was not working the 3 working days between xmas and new year and caused a bit of a fiasco. They also thought they had the final say.....

sorry i'm closed for xmas.

My business will shutdown at the end of 22nd December, and will reopen on 4th January - not sure about the client site though.

I know most client cos will try to force you taking 3 days off between Xmas and New Years. However, if your contract does not say anything about this, you can always work and get paid!

During this 3-day, you can just go out shopping in lunchtime and go home by 4 pm

Do you not understand MOO? If you have this important clause in your contract, they don't have to give you any work. So they can say "we don't need you between these dates".
