They haven't taken any contractors on for a long while as they were laying off permies.

Does this mean the hire freeze is over?
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

If they were well organised they would not need contractors. Thank God they are so inefficient.

I got a call from an agency about a role with Tata yesterday which was a first and it was for more than £10 a day. I wonder if this means some of the changes to the ICT rules are starting to have an effect and our Indian bretheren cannot be shipped over in such large quantites as previously !

Worked for EDS out of Abney Hall. Good bunch of people I worked with but the managers were clueless with a capital 'C.'

They can piss you about over contract lengths though so be warned.

I had a contract with EDS a couple of years ago, admittedly the NZ branch.

To say it was a giant cluster f**k is to totally undervalue the meaning of that phrase. In fact it was so bad that you could use EDS as a metaphor for something that is totally and irreparably FUBAR, i.e.

"Oh man, you totally EDSed that up!"

"The situation in Afghanistan is completely EDS, pull everyone out immediately"

Work for them at your peril.
