    Interview expenses

Is it ok to ask now for a permie job?

Nice sounding job, they contacted me, they won't pay travel expenses, or tell me how many I'm up against, 99% saying fuk it, 1% saying hmmm, 23 quid on National Express...

First Clarity is the org, London, where they don't have gravy on chips or any semblance of mushy peas.....

Is it ok to ask now for a permie job?
WTF is that supposed to mean? Is it ok to ask about expenses for a permie job? On a contracting forum? Erm... Let me think about that one?

You got chance of a good job and you don't wanna pay £23 expenses out your own pocket to go for interview??

Seriously How did you actually get this far in the interview process??

Yes, you can ask. Unless it is a small company, they are unlikely to allow the question affect their decision. However, just to be careful, try to put the request to HR directly and not the recruiting manager.

Most places will just give you an expenses claim form.

Thanks for the responses even the tulipe one...

Should have given more detail but I was a bit Stella'd when I posted - liquid lunches, hmmmm...

I've been contracting since 1994, permie'd myself once 2001-2006 due to well, a bereavement and, well I needed to work from home (had young kids not even at nursery) and permie was offered and fitted circs....

That was the only time I stepped off the plate!

Anyway, still on contract now, worst one I ever had (EDS) so I was tempted by this lot who contacted me like I think I said. After a think today told them I wasn't interested and not coming and they said role was taken anyway, so why was I supposed to be interviewed?

Ah well, at least it's another lesson learned...

You can lead a fool to wisdom but you can't make him think.

Will you be deleting this stuff tomorrow when you're sober, or just asking the questions properly?
