No but I tried offerring agents some money if they secured me a role that met my expectations including rate back in 2001!

No, because my agency don't do any negotiation whatsover on my company's behalf.

I'd do the opposite - if/when I agree a rate rise with the client, I will request that all that rate comes to me - the agency gets nothing extra.

I'd never offer money to the agency working on behalf of the client. They don't help matters at all when it comes to rate rises.
