    Company Closure Fee

    All,

My accountant is asking for £300 +VAT to clsoe the company??? he explained these expenses as :-

    1. His own fee 125+vat

    2. 175+vat for handling the Capital Distribution advice work. Part of this work is applying to the Revenue for extra statutory concession C16.

and they are saying that rest of the amount can be withdrawn with 10% max tax!!!..

    is it realisitic?

I was quoted £275 +vat to do the same thing last year, I left it dormant, deregistered for VAT and PAYE and filed my own returns based on an interim management accounts which was done after my period of accounting. Its risky, but you can probably close it all yourself.

Call HMRC and ask their advice - they're actually pretty helpful
