How to find the agency advertising a job

I've seen a contract position that really excites me , it's exactly up my street. The JD states you must have over 10 years experience in this field to be considered, infact the JD could be my CV !!! I really want to be considered for this….but

My problem:

I'm sent my CV to the advertising agency, but they're stated that they've already sent a batch of CV through, and they won’t send anymore until they get rejections (or something like that). I did manage to extrapolate that they aren't the sole-agency for this position.

My question: How can I find out the other agencies advertising this job?

I've searched Jobserve using keywords etc but as yet I've not managed to find anything similar.

I'm sure that I would "beat" anyone out there to this job - I just need to get in front of the client.

Often agents are lazy and copy/paste a client supplied job spec into Jobsite/Jobserve etc.... Often, a well selected line copied into Google will find multiple instances of the same job across quite a few job websites with different agents. Take your pick and you're home and dry! HTH.

Thanks. I've tried but still can't find anything other than from the original (agency called: Computappoint) Looks like I may have found a "non-lazy" agency!

They may be sole suppliers.

Other agencies may have filled the role from their databases and not needed to advertise.


I have also been in the "perfect match but too late" position a few times. It is frustrating but there are so many people on the bench, the others may be perfect matches too.

That is the most likely explanation IMO right now. Often I've been able to find the job on a client's own website from a job spec posted by the agency. Given the end client, you can then choose your own agency to use, or not as you see fit.
