The PM market seems to be picking up in terms of roles being advertised but not however in terms of rates. These I am guessing/hoping will follow suit.

"Urgent" as in "we urgently want all your contacts" ???
I wasnt asked for any contacts - though if I rate the agent or Ive secured a contract with that Agent Im more than happy to oblige - even if I dont benefit it could mean work for somebdy else.
Some of the comments Ive read here on this topic are a tad absurd really.
The positions , at least one of them is genuine - Ive worked at that site before - just you lot wait till mid-September - the bizz is set to rocket.
Anyway as Im happy Im not interested in looking elsewhere.
Treat others as you would like to be treated - hey that just might catch on.
Get the distinct impression things are on the up in the .NET Dev. contract market (South Uk) either that or a few projects have kicked off.
How are others finding things at the moment ?
My inbox seems to be flooded this week. That's the first time in months that that has happened.
Mind you, most of the jobs are pretty poor. Either rubbish work, location or rate (or all three!) Can't say I've seen anything decent yet. Still, early days.
That seems to be the general impression I'm getting.
Loads of BA positions in my market have just popped up yesterday with some rates that look quite pre-meltdown.
One agent I have been going out of my way to ignore ( just didn't believe anything he said ) has lined up a decent phone interview for this afternoon.
Summer is summer. In 19 years, this is the fourth time I have been benched in summer. Twice I banged my heads against the wall until I ended up with 3 or more offers in the last week of August. the other one, I sat back, enjoyed the weather and was again back on contract by first of September.
Trouble is, this year was different than any other. NONE of the big April budgets came through like usual.
Keep telling myself I should just find a way to enjoy myself. Crystal clear blue waters, sandy beaches, cloudless skys and topless women in thongs ( spent the whole 4 months benched in Greece ) - I guess it really could be worse!
Come to think of it, maybe I shouldn't be just rushing off back to work!
