    BC+ Clearance

I have had BC+ clearance for a previous contract.

How long is it valid for & can it be used/transferred for other contracts ?

Not sure, would of thought it would expire after 12 months OR might only be valid for one client. Even with SC, some clients need a BC done again before joining - I know of someone who has done two BC`s in the last year even though they still have valid SC.

I think BC drops immediately, but it's fairly easily recovered again, since it's only a basic ID and residency check. The fact you've held it recently should help.
      Blog? What blog...?

What Mal said is correct, BC (Basic Standard as it's called now) lapses as soon as you leave the sponsoring company.
I had higher than BC, moved from working for a supplier to working direct at the end client and the end client had to do their own BC despite having the same desk, office, function etc as I had when being paid via the supplier. I've had no less than 4 BC checks done in the last 18 months.

Basic checks take less than a week to do, are done by the companies own security team and are a slightly glorified ID check only.
