    R2 International Ltd

    Hi,

Has anybody had any dealings with them?

I recieved a phone call and an email from them with the lure of promoting me to a number of clients.
I found it all a little to suspicious, because the woman sounded like she was operating from a call center in Mumbai, and the contents of the email didn't really convince me.
Further to our conversation, I am a contract recruiter specializing in placing highly skilled .Net and Sharepoint consultants in the BENELUX market. I work on 1 on 1 basis with consultants, in terms of you securing your next contract. I will exclusively market you for the next 7 days by forwarding your CV to minimum of 10 to 15 clients. Based on my previous track records I have managed to help consultants secure positions, by getting them a couple of interviews a week. I guarantee you that you will be certainly known in the market place.

I would like to confirm that you are available to take up a contract immediately in the BENELUX market. I would like to confirm our commitment from your side saying that within the next 7 days if you receive any calls for new job vacancy you will keep me posted.

In order for me to do this, I would like you to email me your CV and list of references you have worked with in the past, in a word document, to this email address. Also, I would like to know the rates you want to work with. This will help me present your skills to a number of clients.

Pease give me an all inclusive rate you can work on to make a new projects in Belgium.
It sounds a little bit like I should also forward my bank details on to that nice nigerian man who wants to give me some millions found in a bank.

You'd think by now agents would have thought of more creative ways of fishing - this "I need X references" is old hat.
The close proximity of the letters 'G' and 'T' are the reason I'll never again send an important email and end it with "Regards" ....

I specialise in DEC. I used to do Ferranti too, but there's not a lot of call for that these days.

They just called me again today. Asking to go through my experience again, and previous companies I have worked for. She wanted to jot down all my experience. I told her that I have clearly written all the detail on my CV. She then said "Oh Yes, I see now, If I need anything more I will call back!".

So she's clearly done well in marketing my CV in the past 2 weeks!
I thought I'd do a search for thier website, and it some horrible template driven turd, http://www.r2international.com/
I can't see them providing the service they proclaim too. Think I'll just play along with this one for a while.

I have been with R2 for over a year and these are my observations:

They are a genuine agency, but seem to be using a UK 'shell' company as their legal entity. Their entire staff seem to be based out of India using cheap Skype style telecommunication for telephony making it hard to have a conversation with them.

I would strongly advice against using them, I have on too many occasions experienced severe payments delays. When confronting them with this they make it very hard to get in contact with the appropriate contact person, making their customer service for vital services very bad.

My general advice is to avoid them!

Just discovered that in Companies House R2 International status is "Struck off and dissolved".
Does it mean that our contracts are void and null?
