    CVs with passport size photo..??

I saw couple of CVs with passport size photo embedded as part of profile. I felt those CVs stand out from the crowd..

Any hiring managers here feel CVs with photo have better chance to be called for interview..???

Nope. Unless it's a very fit female who states one of her passtimes is recreational sex with Project Managers.

    It's a pointless gimmick.

Depends on the target. In France you really need a photo. CVs without a photo risk being binned forthwith. The photo booths in shopping centres have special offers on 40 CV-size photos for job-hunters.

OTOH in the US (AIUI) you must not have a photo, because it would be illegal to hire or not based on anything that you can see in a photo.

In Germany it also seems common practice but I've never done it. I recall being a member of a Works Council here and part of our task was to go through all the CVs of people who had applied for a job and it seemed that many of the people just looked at the photo rather than looking at their experience which put me off (although I do have to say that with my looks I would always get the job regardless )
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

This is the norm in permie client facing roles, pre-sales etc- companies often seek those that fit the 'friendly face' profile and anyone with terminal acne, 3 eyes, swastika tattoo on their forehead etc wont get a look in.

I don't know if a rule not to have a photo in the US. When I was over there we used to get them then they slowed down and stopped. Some places like them others don't give a frak. It depends on the HR troll.

I'm against them for the very reason you give.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

This seems crazy - if a co are hiring on looks profiles it would be better for everyone to find out at an early stage, not get hopes up, waste everyones time and money etc....

Just like you dont get fat bastard sales guys coming round because no one would buy anything from them as they dont fit the corporate stereotype, this kind of guy may well get OK in other environments (as long as their BO wasnt too bad!).

I am not talking abt printed photos..I am only talking abt embeded photo as part of profile in CV.
