    What are the agencies rights?

    Hi,

I will be starting a new contract shortly. However, before everything is signed and sealed there is the usual due diligence. I exaggerated my current daily rate in order to secure a better one. Do I have to disclose my current daily rate before I start the contract? Given that I am still in employment I would imagine that I would not have to prove it as it would compromise my current role?? Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks,
    Niall

No, there's no way that the agency can force you to divulge your current rate and there's no legal way that they can find out as that information is private.

Well done on the new contract

        aaawwwww bless!!

It would be wrong for you NOT to exaggerate your rate!! Its not like they are always (ever) competely honest about rates.

When the new agent asks you for your current rate, I thought everyone exagerated it to get a higher rate or to leave room for negotiation? Isn't that what everyone does? I usually add between 10 and 15% when asked this.

agreed. I assume they will try to knock me back down to my (actual) current rate, so if they don't, I'm quids in.

I have an alternative strategy; when the pimp asks me my rate I tell him. When he asks me what I would accept, I give him the same figure.

                Worked so far...
