Go and do it - you definately won't get the job if you don't.
Don't expect expenses though. The travel to London and back will have to come out of your (or your company's) wallet."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

Enquire why you can't do it online. I must admit I'd be a bit suspicious about having to go to the agents office and I'd like to make sure it's not an expensive fishing expedition.+50 Xeno Geek Points

Donot go if its Venn Group...I had bitter experience with them. Instead of bothering over phone for reference details Venn do have a noble way on getting people in their office in our on expense & get reference details on their application form..!
Looks like some one else also introducing same idea...Name the agency here, you will get feedback from the forum on past experiences people here.Comment

I did an agent interview in London recently. In the end the client didn't even want to see me - nothing to do with my meeting the agent, just didn't think my experience was relevant.
However, I still see the trip to London as a positive thing. I put the train fare through the company, had a few hours up town, treated it as tame interview practice and even though that job fell through it could mean I am remembered in the future.
In your case, you might meet some new contacts, like I did on a course recently. Unless you are on the bread-line, why not!"take me to your leader"Comment

I now realise the agent wasted my time and cash. Worse, I also blabbed about some possible leads, and interviews I will be attending. It cost a shed load of money which I cannot afford 'cos I'm on the bench and I wasted a whole effing day when I could be doing something useful
