    Agent sitting in his boat?

    Hi Pleomax,

As I am sure you are aware, I head up the Supply Chain and Purchasing department at Huxley Associates for the London and South East area.

With the current economic conditions as they are, it is extremely important to differentiate yourself from your peers in order to secure a new position, and as such our team have put together a comprehensive Candidate Information form, which you should find attached.

The information within this will provide us with an excellent insight into your background, experience, and also will serve as a survey into the market as it currently stands.

Please complete this asap, and return it via email to a.hammond@huxley.com, and this will be saved for our records with your profile. Apologies if you have already received this email, please disregard if this is the case.

I appreciate your time in advance, and look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Kind regards,
    Pimp
    Engineering Division
    Huxley Associates

This is an unusual paragraph. I'm curious as to just how quickly you can find out what is so unusual about it. It looks so ordinary and plain that you would think nothing was wrong with it. In fact, nothing is wrong with it! It is highly unusual though. Study it and think about it, but you still may not find anything odd. But if you work at it a bit, you might find out. Try to do so without any coaching!

Think Hoaxley must be doing the rounds this week as I had almost the same sort of email but a lot less questions - about 10. Think the current manager question came in at number 6 and the two references and where else have you got interviews at questions 9 and 10. This would in his words "benefit us both whilst looking for your next role in this difficult market. ".

I put N/A or Company confidential for all the fishing questions - basically just answering whether I wanted contract or perm and my skillset. His final words on the email were "I will contact you over the next few days to discuss further" - what a surprise, I dont seem to have heard from him. Doh maybe I misspelled N/A.
