    termination issue

i've just had my contract terminated four weeks into a five month contract. I want a severance payment and payment for the notice period. The company says I waived my rights to any payment as I walked out immediately, rather than staying to work the two week notice period. what am I entitled to.

you are a contractor, you are not entitled to anything!

You are entitled to be sued by the agency for loss of commission they would have earned off you in those two weeks because of your breach of contract.

      But they won't.

Isn't a bit soon to try and claim the sockpuppet award for the worst post on the forum? Normally this type of thread happens about a few weeks before the end of the year.
If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.

          hhhhaahaaaaaaa "entitled"

hope you get stung for walking out - assuming you're not a troll, in which case I feel silly for replying.

P.S. Why are you asking us a question that is almost certainly answered by your contract (that we haven't read)?

            Oh Dear

It's very bad form to walk out. My advice is to always stick to the letter of any signed agreement and remain professional.

You're lucky the agent isn't making deductions for breach of contract.

You shouldnt have walked out tbh. If they told you that you didnt need to work the 2 weeks than fair play. Was it because they thought you was tulipe at your job; that they got rid?

As far as I am aware - the only folks who can make money from nothing are the Central Bankers - good try though - yeah if you walked without doing your notice 'fraid you're on your own.

Good luck though - unexpected termintation happens to the best of contractors - but dont walk , it is in your own interests to serve your notice period.

I would move on and get your next contract and put this down to experience.
