OGC’s Catalist framework - experiences?

Never heard of it (and I've just come out of a government outsourcing contract...)"I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

I am contracting in a government department now and use this weekly.Originally posted by scooterscot View PostAny tales of woe or rapture obtaining work through the OGC Catalist framework for local government?
Have you got on as a supplier or are you trying to? If not you will end up working for a 3rd party in to the framework as is takes a while.
Let me know any questions etc?Comment

There is a possibility of me becoming a supplier for a government department through this framework via a 3rd party - estimated start time mid-April, you think this is unlikely start time?Originally posted by nevergoingtopay View PostI am contracting in a government department now and use this weekly.

I understand why the framework exists, I just wondered how it was possible for me, 1 one band, to be a contender against all the other big consultancies out there..."Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience". Mark TwainComment

I think you would go via a 3rd party or agent on the framework. It takes a while to get on and you need many references etc.
Unless the gov department is sponsoring your company. I know many big companies that cannot get on this, One is a large car leasing company who have been trying to get on for more than a year.
Let me ask someone and come back to you.Comment
