Cheers for the responses - I am actually signed up to deal direct with GSK as I did some work for them a while ago when I ousted my agent from the deal I was on but getting contracts that way is impossible as you'll never find out who the hiring manager is and the HR bods won't tell you a thing.

They are pretty good to deal direct with. Their standard consultancy contract is very good in terms of IR35 complience and they pay on time - 30 days after you have submitted your invoice. I did a year or so where I was supporting the dept I used to work in on a day per week basis in my own time.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

    I preferred version 1!

You've done very well if you've managed to deal directly with them. I tried and failed, but working with GSK through SRG was always OK anyway on the two occasions I worked with them.

Last contract I had with GSK was through Volt Europe.
