That's what they would pay for an Indian IT worker for those skills to sit in London (the Indian wouldn't get the £300 / day though).

It just aint worth it, leave IT like I'm doing and set something else up, don't piss your life away begging money off others living on a drip-feed if you can help it.

That's just the rate they want to pay, not the rate they might end up having to pay.

It seems like a long list of skills, but nobody would have used Telerik without having all the others anyway.

              Indeed.

If I had that experience, and in particular "Internet trading systems" experience, which is Front Office, I'd be looking for £600+.

At least I would have been last year.

And from my experience would do nowhere near £300 worth of work either

Are you honestly telling me you couldn't live on 300 per day?

That's 1500 per week. So even with the worst tax provision that would be a grand a week in your bin.

If I couldn't live on a grand a week something is very very wrong.

That's nothing...I've just seen an advert for a 12 month contract in the arse-end of nowhere in Austria (I know the client), using a number of pretty niche skills, for 240 euros/day. I was selling these skills for £600/day back in 2001!

                    It's bad, it's really bad...
