German job site for English speakers

Hello,

Can anyone recommend a German job website which offers roles for English speakers? I'm currently working out of Luxembourg where there doesn't seem to be much happening and my contract will end in April. Are most of you people just using jobserve for International roles?

Why should there be a German jobsite for English speakers, is there an English website for German speakers? Mind you, have a look at gulp.de which has areas in English although the majority of jobs will be advertised in German. Suggest jobserve or directly on the agancies UK website if you want job specs in English. Expect to be able to speak German here though.

Because, if they want to attract fish from a bigger pool they have to advertise in English.

IME the pool of German contractors is small. Not because there isn't a large pool of qualified candidates, but because few Germans will accept the insecurity.

I would suggest looking at the German jobsites, there are a lot of German contractors out there. The last place I was at was approx. 98% German contractors. I will agree about the insecurity but in the IT branch that isn't such a great problem. The big problem with Germany is that they don't want to travel too far from where they live.


Probably then instead of advertising in English they should advertise in Chinese or Indian...

But they don't speak Hindi or Mandarin so communication in the office would be difficult!

You work in places different to me. I think that from 5 placements I only met two Germans who were genuine contractors.

All the other German "consultants" were software house employees looking to blag a permi job at the client. (For the benefit of those that don't know the German system, the software house can't charge a finder's fee for this transfer, so they are common.)

Because, you know, us Brits think the world revolves around us.

I actually asked because in Luxembourg and Switzerland they do this as they have big financial centres where the official language is English.

You'll find most English speaking jobs on Jobserve, they're usually advertised on Gulp as well. Gulp is worth a look but mostly the jobs advertised that are not on jobserve will be German speaking.

The advantage with jobserve is that you get all English speaking European jobs.
