I learnt from the master. But seriously... nothing on my CV is beyond the truth (i.e. I don't exaggerate my experiences or qualifications). There's no need for it.If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here. -
1 down and 1 to go. The other interview never materialised in the end. Disappointed with the agency. Unfortunately, can't remember the name of that agency. Anyway... Interview went well today, but the agency is behaving pretty poorly. They sent me to the wrong office to start off with, and then they refuse to return my calls so that I can provide some feedback. Have emailed them the feedback telling them that I am not going to take the role, even though I liked the role. I can't work with the agency if they cannot get the basics right. Even the client has slagged the agency off.If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.Comment

You can't remember the name of the agency??? I keep a spreadsheet with job details, jobserve reference, date posted on Jobserve, date applied, location, rate, agency details, agent details and status. For analysis purposes you understand.Originally posted by pmeswani View Post1 down and 1 to go. The other interview never materialised in the end. Disappointed with the agency. I averaged just under 4 job applications a week for 3 weeks. It took 11 applications before I got 1 interview for a contract which I subsequently got.
Basically I didn't have to try too hard in my last month, but the stats are up from the last time I had to apply for contracts.
(I have other stats if you really want to know...

They came to me direct rather than me applying for the role. I wasn't at home when they called, so didn't have the chance to write down the details. I know who the client is. The agency never emailed me as promised (but that doesn't count for much when it comes to agencies, so I don't believe them until I see the e-mail), so I can't chase them for an update.Originally posted by cojak View PostYou can't remember the name of the agency??? IF they call me again next week, I will tell to forget it unless they specifically email me the details first and wait for me to confirm that I want to go ahead.
My job / roles applications vary from day to day. Sometimes I apply for nowt a day and sometimes I apply for about 8 or 9. Quite often I don't hear from the agency, sometimes I do. Very hit and miss at the moment. Was lucky to get 2 interviews (even though they are through the same agency). However, based on the feedback I received from the client in Bracknell about the agency, I might give both roles a miss. I'm sure one could bad mouth all agencies, but very few would complain about poor payment methods (i.e. missed payments or overpayments).
I'm a bit worried about the lack of work and money at the moment. Not sure how long I can survive without forcing myself to close my business and signing on.If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.Comment

Ah well, that's different...
Stick at it - something will turn up...

Well, had the 2nd interview on Thursday.... got some feedback on Friday. Apparently, I am on the shortlist of 2. I am the "more value for money" candidate @ £300 a day.... the rate isn't too bad for the work I am doing (I think). The other candidate went through another agency (even though the agency I am dealing with wanted to represent the other candidate) and is a stronger candidate. I know it may seem that I am putting myself down, but I am guessing that the other candidate will get the job, even though more expensive and more qualified. So here's waiting for something to happen... even if it means going to Switzerland.... if the opportunity arises.Originally posted by cojak View PostAh well, that's different...

300pd is a low rate, especially for a Swiss contract with all the extra expenses you'll be occuring. You're better off waiting for something in UK.Comment

The £300pd isn't for the swiss job. The swiss one is paying in excess of £500pd.Originally posted by Turion View Post300pd is a low rate, especially for a Swiss contract with all the extra expenses you'll be occuring.
