Should I chase this or not..?

Back in December I started a new gig (some may remember the post I made on this).. but in a nutshell I signed the contract with agency which had a 0-day notice clause and after the first day I decided the gig was not workable. I gave them notice that evening and did not return, they did not email me back either.

All the same I invoiced them for 1 days work, as I did spend the entire day doing what they had requested of me for that day.

The agency have ignored this and have so far failed to pay up within 30 days, should I chase them for the money, or let it go on the basis I ditched the client?

This is a moral question, not a legal one.

    It's entirely up to you.

In the same circumstances, I wrote off three days, even though the agent told me to invoce and that they would (probably) pay.

Depends how much a day was worth. I know a freelance writer and if he did a days work he would definately chase. Why should we be any different?

Did you get the timesheet signed by someone at ClientCo? If not, you'll have trouble getting them to pay I suspect.

            That's a point.

Nope, never got a timesheet signed.. I filled it in anyway (unsigned) and sent it in with the invoice. Not sure if I opted in when signing up though, would this make a difference? I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that if you opt in, timesheets are irrelevant for payment?

when you say you gave notice that evening.....did you tell the client at 5.30pm or whatever, that you would not be back, or was this just an email to the agent?

if it was the former and you have no signed timesheet, i would say you would be wasting your time

                  Yes, most definitely.

Personally I would send threatening emails/letters but not be too stressed over it, and be prepared not to get anything. Spending a few minutes is worth it even if you only give it a 10% success chance, based on time/reward.
