    rubbish....sorry generalization again!

for the asset management role, there were times where i could have done with the experience just to understand what the **** everyone was talking about

for the NHS, they were all so lazy, me and the other bloke on the project, also a contractor with limited NHS experience, had to work really hard on the requirement's as well as the design and code, so again it was tough but we got through it

Shall I get the popcorn out? It's been a while since we last had a war of words in this forum.
If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.

          Yep.

NHS dev manages only want to employ people who have a track record of NHS work, because the probability is that an "outsider" will be too good and show up the rest of the team for what they are - incompetent.

If you have a 'straight' job to do per se, for example a role that is not dynamic enough so as to take you outside of your technology field and actually meet people within the industry, deal with stakeholders in the industry space, generate new business from different areas of the organisation, and then deliver those projects then you won't quite know what I'm talking about.

Now, let's see if you can start a sentence without using the word, 'rubbish'.

                Lots of generalizations here.

I got an NHS dev gig with no prior NHS knowledge, and my development manager is superb, both technically and as a people person.

You can't really make blanket assumptions about an entire sector IMO

OK you talk about your development manager - are you working as a developer or project manager? I think this thread is about project manager roles.
This default font is sooooooooooooo boring and so are short usernames

I don't think anybody is. What I'm actually saying is that all the recent ads for these sector roles specify sector specific experience (say that really fast!)

And this is probably because those clients can afford to be fussy in an over saturated market. As yes, perhaps in the case of the NHS, they don't want an outsider showing them up

                      Easy,

Can't you just add a 6 month, NHS assignment on your cv - 7 or 10 years ago or so?

No one will check, as they're so lazy - job done....
