    Elan Changing Contract

I need some urgent advice with regard to a gig I'm working on through Elan. Essentially from the word go (being put forward for interview) this was a 6 month contract running until March 2009. All paper work & telco's with Elan stated 6 month contract.

The client emailed me this morning to ask me if I would accept a contract extention until end of December as my current contract was due to expire end of November.

Elan then contacted me by phone to advise "there had been a mix up & that contract should only have been for 2 months"

The Contract due to run for 6 months has been signed by both myself & Elan.

Can any of you give me some pointers as to my best course of action ?

At present I'm really annoyed as if I'd know it was only a 2 month gig I'd have asked for a higher rate.

This type of issue has come up before. Nowt you can do about the extra money. Elan can effective terminate your contract (with or without your client's agreement) after 3 months even if the original contract was 6 months. That's the nature of contracting, unfortunately.
If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.

Exactly. Your gig is as long as the notice period.

50% of agents are scum. But then so are 50% of contractors.....
