Mmmmmm. Maybe I should put my picture on my CV.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Are people fecking serious? Sticking a photo on yer cv because the agent 'requests it'?

      Tell to get to feck.

When I was younger, many moons ago, I attended an interview where they took Polaroids of us all so they could remember who we were when comparing notes on our performance. I thought it was odd as surely people that stand out would be remembered anyway?

Either way, I got the job...

But never had it is a contractor though.

I had a request this year and told the agent to **** off.

The agent then badged me for a week until I wrote an email listing the various discrimination acts it breached.

Had this request for a short term gig, to provide photocopy of photo page in passport.

As I had already secured the gig, I obliged.

Germany also insists on a photo with a CV.

Wouldn't know, I just get one contract after another by direct recommendation, no CV needed.

They don't insist but people do it anyway. I have never done it but I had one agency saying that they need a photo and I kept replying back that I don't have time to go to a photographer. They then suggested using a camera and scanning it in so I told them I don't have a scanner. They then suggested a digital camera so I told them I don't have one of those either. Got the gig regardless.

German agencies, particularly those with British connections, have started to ask for references as well.
