Longest period of time on the bench

Well, I've been looking hard since 3rd of Sept, and have only one muppet interview.....

feeling anxious and irritated, don't they know how good I am!!

How long has everybody else been on the bench that are actively searching. And what do they do to keep their heads up...cus it's almost the end of the week and still nothing...

I had three weeks of looking once. I went on holiday, and had three offers when I came back.

4 weeks isn't too long. If the interviews aren't coming in you need to go for anything and everything. In the last downturn it took me 4 months but there were regular interviews, about one every 2-3 weeks.

If the credit crunch really bites it could get worse before it gets better.
      I'm alright Jack

I'm only in my second contract and had 6 weeks bench time before I started this contract.

Over 3 months since my last gig, though I have a new one starting in just over a week. But I didn't seriously start looking until September.

After 4 or 5 weeks of getting nowhere in the supposed peak time of the year, I was starting to get a bit worried.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

I was on the bench for a year once !

It's been about 10 days this time, but I haven't really started looking yet.

6 months during 2002/3 downturn. Used the time to learn SAP. Now earn triple my pre-SAP rate so it was not wasted time.
