Should I prepare for some bench time?

My contract is up in early March. Being so close to the end of the tax year, is it likely gigs will be thin on the ground til mid to late april?

Yes, you should always be prepared for a long stretch on the bench, that is what you do as a contractor. What the market's going to look like in March is anyone's guess, but the outlooks are CCC- at best.
