He also made some very high claims on his capabilities and contacts in the UK industry (red rag to a bull for me, emphasis on bull), but even after giving the benefit of the doubt i've seen nothing substantial arising from this particular recruiter or agency.

Aye, eye catching ad alright though.
Isn't that true with about 90% - 99.5% of the recruitment agencies? High claims, pushy, desparate? I've come across a lot of agencies demanding exclusivity, and then not hear anything from them since. http://www.linkedin.com/in/tariqdirania .... If you really want to know what he looks like.
If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.

      This made me laugh:

I've never had any other recruiter either before or after demand exclusivity.

I've been contacted by a fair few recruiters who have no actual role and are desperate and just fishing, and i've been contacted by recruiters who have a genuine role and are uninterested in fishing for leads and general timewasting. Curiously, i'm not sure that TD fits into either of these categories. He certainly seemed clued up on the technical aspect of the industry and requirements in general, to be fair.

My baseball comment was probably a bit uncalled for I guess, having now seen the pic, but that was genuinely the impression I got from 2-3 conversations with the guy.

As this is my area I've seen this a few times. He comes across to me as a total tosser who I wouldn't touch with Likely's...
