    Going direct after contract finishes

    Hi guys,

Just landed a new role, short term initially 4 weeks.

Just wondered whats the norm amount of time on the clause for not going direct on the contract (the bit where i can work for client without going through agency, cant remember what the proper words are for this...)

    Thank you please

3-6 months isn't at all unusual to see in a contract. It all depends if you agree to the clause or get it removed from the contract in the first place.

The client may well have a clause in their contract with the agency too so going direct isn't always as simple as it would seem. For that matter the client may not want to cut out the agency and will in all probability have payment terms different from the agency too.

          opted in or out?
Out: Whatever you agreed in your contract.
In: 8 weeks from end or 12 weeks from start depending which is longest (need to check that doesnt sound right somehow).
I am not qualified to give the above advice!
