    Downturn, what downturn?
Well done. Unfortunately, I have only been approached with permie jobs or contracts that "maybe" in the pipeline sometime next year. Had no choice but to start looking at permie jobs again. Will look at contracting again in the new year... but am very doubtful that the downturn in IT Security (with my skillset) will recover anytime soon.
If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.

Thought I'd give this one a 'badjump'. Personally I'm still reskilling but the number of unsolicited calls has definitely dropped. Had a call last week from a former agent of mine about a permie job in Nowheresville. He seemed pretty worried I'd tell him to go forth, and multiply. With good reason; had he not primed me for the shock, I wouldn't have been so polite.

That said, the websites are still teeming with new ads, even as of yesterday - saw 12 new ones, they can't ALL be fake!

Best of luck to all of you guys hunting.

Antivirus, Web / Email Content Filtering, Firewalls (not any of the popular ones), IDS / IPS, Proxy cache, Vulnerability Assessment (can do Pen testing, but have no commercial experience), Managed Firewall Service, Enterprise Security. I am keen to get back to doing hands on type of work, with a possible investigatory style work at some point.

          What about you ft101?

Mostly web app security and penetration testing, but also more general information security work (cissp type stuff; contracts/SoW reviews, policy writing, process and procedure development). Right now i'm on a pen test contract.

I've found the market to be Ok so far, though this is my first contract as I returned to the UK recently. I'm looking for a new contract at the moment, but would consider interesting ITSec/InfoSec work in financial services.

There are a few infosec heads on here, might be an opportunity for networking.

I'm still looking for an ITSec contract. Market is a bit dull for me at the moment. Had interview today, turned out to be a waste of time.

I got some 3 month team leader roles around that I'm interviewing for - actually had a pimp say he'd recruit for them even though its not his sector as he's pretty desperate.

                    Recruitment freeze?

I heard last night from a recruiter that most banks were freezing recruitment yet Jobserve/Jobsite still have contracts for banking. Does anyone know if there is a freeze or whether it just affects permies?
