Performance Direct insure both of my cars.

3,000 miles per year on one and 9000 miles on the other and both less than £500 per year.

That's what I pay with prudential - 3 points, 1 written off car (not my fault), and protected NCD

I'm only 200 for a 2.4V6 A6 through Direct line, including business use.

don't forget to add someone else with a good driving history to the policy as it usually reduces it. Doesn't mean they have to use the car!

Today's Guardian has a money saving guide on cars, including insurance.

One of their interesting tips: Have a big excess. If you have a small excess then you can't sensibly make a small claim because your insurance will go up next year (not sure about no claims protection on this...)
