    Insurance

    Hi

I may be starting a new gig in approx 2 weeks. One of the requirements are to have public liability and professional indemnity cover both for the value of £1/2 Million.

From looking at this site I can only find Caunce O'hara

I am just after recommendations please, on a no frills cheap package that offers the above.

    Thanks in advance

My contracts have all said that, but I've never actually had it.

I can't see that I could ever need it when I look at my own situation.

Not sure how many other people do this... am I in a minority? Should I get it?

The way I view it is that it's really not that much cash for the piece of mind. If an accident does happen then at least it won't ruin you.

You're signing a contract that says you have when you haven't...? Perhaps you cross your fingers or something, so it doesn't count.

Basic cover for the average IT contractor can be had for around £200 pa. JFDI...

Having proper business insurance also helps to convince Hector you're a "proper" business when it comes to that nice chat about IR35....
