I am seriously considering becoming a contractor, just not sure this is the right time to move, with the state of the economy etc - what do people think? I await your views!

Also, it depends a lot on your skill set, so a search on Jobserve will tell you if there is anything worth while out there..The "Fit" hits the "Shan" -

Confidence
Jaded - you look like - most important thing a contractor should have is confidence. This comes from knowledge and experience. If you haven't got both, you need at least one in abundance. You have to walk in in a new environment and work with people who you've never seen before and expect to 'hit the ground running' (without falling!). For me, the difference between those that are contractors and the ones wishing to be is confidence in themselves. Nobody can instill that in you, apart from yourself.Comment
